Such relaxed beauty. Peaceful. Your namesake. ;) I love the thought of a palomino unicorn. Such a pretty color coat they have. Fire AND fur definitely makes "warmth in the cold" Looks very cuddly and cozy. :flirty:

Another fantastic entry. You are going to make it so hard for them to choose.

:) thank you. Yes I debated on the horse color a long while. my favorite color horses are not shiny, they are duns and dapple grays , even most palomino are not shiny as they are shimmery, but I wanted it to be shiny.... and to contrast with her hair - so not black, and to contrast with the snow, so not white. :)

Mine are roans and paints. :D I think it was a fitting color you chose. You want to compliment, not take away. A dark color would have done that and white would have blended in.

yes my own horse is a paint. I just love her, my faves are bay, palomino and grey paints. we had a roan, before the sun bleached him out, his coat was almost deep maroon/purple, by fall though he would be almost orange. :)

Same with my mom's horse. :D He's brown in winter and nearly jet black in winter.

This looks so... Elvish. That really was my first thought ;) I love the soft light and shading and the warm colours in the cold landscape. It makes the drawing look really cute and peaceful <3

I'm speechless... I really don't know where to begin.

Ok, first of all I'm absolutely impressed with the fact that you are spot-on as it comes to her clothes of preference, although you haven't even asked for any reference. Rithiell would definitely wear that dress, and to be more precise, blue, green and all the colours in between are her colours of preference.
Second, I can't take my eyes off of her face, and more specifically the expression in her eyes. She looks so peaceful and serene, but you can also see that her mind has slipped to another place, thinking of something. :D
Third, I don't think I have to say again how amazing you are with horses. The details on this unicorn are so wonderful that it almost hurts. :cries:

Weirdest thing of all, I could actually see this scene happening in my world (although there are no unicorns but I'm seriously thinking of incorporating some now!!! )

You are one AMAZING artist hun!!! You can't imagine how happy you've made me with this  (you actually turned an incredibly tiring, shitty day into a very good one! :glomp: ). Plus, you got a really good grasp of the theme of the contest! I wish you the best of luck with it!

hmm clothes preference, sorry I didn't ask I wanted it to be a surprise, and anyway I think I got a good sense from Sarah's great drawings of what would be appropriate. having her drawings to reference was so helpful, though I was sad to not be able to get the brightness in the eyes like :iconremember2live: 's versions... because its more of a scene and less of a portrait. I really do like portraits.

glad I could warm your day up a bit :)

I also have a version with no horn on the horse, so... it wouldn't be too hard to lose the horn if it doesnt fit in the world.

I like the theme of the contest - I have so many ideas to go with it but just not enough time to do them all

Well, unicorns don't exist in the world as I mentioned, mostly because the world is not a high-fantasy setting as it used to be during the second era. All beings whose life was linked entirely to the sphere of magic died when the magic crumbled, the ones that survived were never completely attuned to it and that's how they survived (like Rithiell and some of the elves, who are called Qarista in my world).
But since the contest is all about your interpretation of my characters and Sarah's, the horn can stay. :)

As for the brightness in her eyes, don't you worry, you will soon have a portrait commission where you can do your own magic, again!:D

I have to thank Sarah for the whole idea of the contest and the theme, I was only involved after she had decided on running the contest in the first place! :)
