Easy Pearls by SYoshiko Easy Pearls by SYoshiko
I have cs6 but you could probably do it in lower versions
or other programs

:D

edit: all Real pearls have an iridescent sheen to them (pink and green) you can play with the overlay or multiply setting to achieve a transparent layer of color over your pearls no matter what the base color - and adjust the opacity of the layer until you get the desired amount of color

also, you can add a photo filter to change the overall color of your pearls, like a warming or cooling filter

Thanks for the DD. Thanks :icondramiratyrual: Mina! <3

Thanks! I wasn't able to make an exact replica of what you did, but still made a pretty good little pearl brush for Gimp using this tutorial. Thanks again!

How would you shade a black pearl?
Reply
:iconsyoshiko:
SYoshiko Featured By Owner Jan 14, 2013  Professional General Artist
its shaded the same as a white pearl. what I did here was just select the white pearl, and go to edit: brightness/contrast and make it less bright. If you find its overall too dark, you can add more of a highlight, and you can also add transparent layers of green and pink in overlay mode.

CS6!? Good golly miss molly i'm still using CS2! i can't afford an upgrade. or rather i don't use photoshop enough to justify the cost. i'm sure i can still make use of the tutorial though.

One of the the best things about photoshop is that there's often more than one way to do the same task. I once saw a tutorial on how to sharpen an image without any of the sharpening filters. Manual sharpening. It blew my mind and I learned a lot about what photoshop can do and what some of it's other functions are for.

yeah Im always learning new things, since Im also self taught, and sometimes im like omg! I was wasting so much time! other times I feel like my way is better, but thats true, there are so many ways to get similar results its about your own method and its interesting to see how people problem solve with creativity.
